My crib:
IKEA Sundvik Crib (002.107.86)
“ Some cribs are built like tanks. This one is not, though it is plenty sturdy for the job. It's adjustable and has a tasteful look. You can lower the mattress to a second position as the baby grows, and then drop one side of the rails to make it into a "toddler bed." It doesn't seem like that would be useful for very long, but it's nice to have the option. This crib was NOT recalled by IKEA. That was the "Sniglar" crib, and it had a problem with the bolts that hold it together being too short (in some cases - many people got the right bolts and everything was fine). IKEA cribs all meet current safety standards, are totally non-toxic, and don't cost an arm and a leg! ”

My home theater speakers:
Bose Lifestyle RoomMate Main / Stereo Speaker
“ I don't know what I was thinking with this. $500 for what is essentially a boombox with no radio. I blame the fact that I ordered it from Skymall on a trans-Atlantic flight while suffering from the flu and deciding a glass of wine would help me sleep. Now I have to learn how to use eBay. ”

My Blu-Ray player:
“ This was a gift. I would never have bought a Pioneer electronic device. But that said, I'm pretty happy with it. My son fixed it so it plays my old Japanese animation DVDs, and they even look good on our hi-def television. ”

My game console:
Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite (120 GB) Black Console
“ The kids begged me to buy the Xbox instead of the Nintendo and, against my better judgment, I gave in. This was of course the wrong decision. They love it. They play it waaay too much. I should have gotten the Wii instead, so they could get bored with it after a few games and go back to digging holes in the back yard. ”

My refrigerator:
Samsung RS265TDWP Side by Side Refrigerator
“ A Samsung fridge? What's next, a Kenmore Television? That's what I thought, at first. But it turns out that Samsung makes a heck of a refrigerator. Energy saving LED lights. Spacious and durable shelves. The in-door icemaker is surprisingly svelte, though somewhat demonic in its tendency to fling ice out at high speed and odd angles. Now when I go for ice the cat leaves the kitchen. ”

My vacuum cleaner:
Hoover WindTunnel U6637-900 Bagless Upright Vacuum
“ My son said it's a Dyson ripoff. I told him if he came up with the additional $100 we'd get the Dyson instead. Now his favorite act is serenading this vacuum, praising its fine qualities and thanking it for rescuing his hundred dollars. If only I could get him to, you know, actually vacuum with it. ”

My dishwasher:
Bosch SHE55P0 Built-in Dishwasher
“ It's so quiet I have to check twice if it's even on. I love the delay feature. It helps me ensure I don't run out of hot water in my shower! ”

My washing machine:
Whirlpool Duet WFW9550W Front Load All-in-One Washer / Dryer
“ Once it a while it develops some funk but I just leave the door open overnight and everything's fine again. Great washer. My daughter loves watching the clothes go around ^_^ ”

My smartphone:
Apple iPhone 3GS Black (16 GB)
“ Easy to use and powerful. I love the video camera capabilities!! ”

My car seat:
Boulevard Barrington Convertible Car Seat
“ I borrowed one of these once because it is more compact, but I found it very difficult to work with. The process of getting it in and out is more complex than I would like. ”
