    Andy Hilal: Many home devices including cordless phones, baby monitors and wifi routers all use the 2.4GHz frequency to communicate. It has become quite crowded with many things using it at once and microwave ovens also emit intense radio waves at this frequency to heat your food.

    To minimize this effect, don't place the microwave in between the wifi router and your computer. One trick is to place your wifi router high up on the wall so that even if the microwave IS between it and your computer, it has a high line of sight and can "look down" over the micro to get to your computer.
