What's the best graphics card to use for Folding @ Home?
I'm interested in running the Folding@Home GPU client but I'm having trouble figuring out what video cards are supported. Are ATI cards supported at all?

Andy Hilal: Some Ati cards are supported (I should say AMD actually - they purchased Ati and rebranded it).But it seems that the nVIDIA cards dominate the performance and price/performance charts for Folding, possibly because the CUDA APIs are reputed to be quite nice to work with. The GeForce GTX 460 chipset will give you a really good combination of Folding performance, energy efficiency, and low cost. I don't think you can go wrong with one (or more) of these in your Folding box.Andy suggests23 months ago

Don Thest: Actually the first folding GPU client was for Radeon cards. But it's true. NVIDIA cards are much better for folding these days. For a little more $ this card will give you a good 20% more points per day than the one above. And it has a great reputation for power efficiency. Watch your cooling! Folding is SUPER demanding and heat-intensive. You should seriously consider water cooling if you are going to pursue GPU folding in a big way.Don suggests22 months ago
