diapers
What's the difference between diaper brands like Pampers and Seventh Generation? Worth the extra cost?

Andy Hilal: The environmental issues with diapers boil down to the following:1) biodegradable materials - will the diapers break down in a landfill in a friendly way or are they a source of more plastic? The less plastic you throw away, the better. And traditional diapers make a LOT of plastic trash.2) chemicals used in manufacture - Luvs and Pampers look pristine and white because their fibers are bleached, and the runoff from that bleaching process drains off into rivers, streams, and the oceans.3) cost - how much are you willing to pay for a biodegradable, non-toxic diaper which may not work quite as well and will not confer any immediate benefit to you or the child? Most people are not willing to pay much for ideological benefits, especially while others around them don't care :(20 months ago

Momma Harrington: Well, guess what guys?Seventh Generation diapers don't actually biodegrade in a landfill. Sorry! They are made without bleaching, which is good!If you really wanna look at some biodegradeable diapers, you need to check out G Diapers. Their inserts are completely biodegradeable though you need to use liners and velcro-attached pants.Momma suggests15 months ago
